Glow Way: Exit the comfort zone

Glow Way: Exit the comfort zone

In the context in which we live, transformation, reinventing oneself is more than an option. Adaptability is made for stronger minds. It defines who evolves, who survives. Over time, it has been shown that, even in the animal world, those who succeed are those who see the opportunity in change. Even in the business world it happens. This is the case with today’s guest of 84 Degrees East, who started her own fashion brand from the pandemic. His career began in the grape harvest, and his close connection with this world has inspired him to market the product, and now, to create another company. He defines himself as a restless person who loves to travel. He also has a tremendous will to progress in life. Friend of his friends and very determined. We invite you, once again, to explore its Glow Way brand, as well as its path.

These beautiful sweatshirts can be found on 84 Degrees East.

Francisco, you started with a quarry business. When did you decide to extend your business to the clothing sector? Why?

As you pointed out, when I was young I worked in the grape harvest in a small family business that belongs to a dear friend of mine. One day, with another friend who is a PR in some famous Madrid clubs, we realized that there was a great opportunity to promote sparkling wine and at the same time give the national product a chance in our country. So we started in Madrid and later we introduced our cava in Marbella too. With my partner, we own a company. As you can imagine, due to the current situation, the nightlife is on “standby” right now, so we decided it was time to try something new. So we conceived this project with the intention of making it grow within a year. We have decided to integrate this activity into our group, with the idea of reinventing ourselves. And it all became real earlier this year.

What does your logo mean?

At first it was the first letter of the names of the three founders, but now we have decided to change the logo. We wanted a differentiation and we saw that there are logos similar to what we used before. That’s why we’ve been working on a new logo we’re introducing to 84 Degrees East right now: a broken egg. The meaning is to get out of your comfort zone.

Who is your target audience?

Our brand is geared towards people with curiosity, who love to travel. The initial idea was to link marketing with some travel package, perhaps in the future, when it will be possible to travel again. We want it to be sustainable, so we also try to reach eco-friendly people.

Why did you choose 84 Degrees East for your brand?

As I just said, we were looking for eco-friendly garments, and we weren’t able to find a supplier that offered this, including quality, until we found 84 Degrees East. As soon as we contacted your company, we were impressed with your customer service. We are very happy with the attention and service we receive from you.

What do you love most about your job?

I have an entrepreneurial spirit. It’s my passion. I always knew. Doing what I love with two dear friends is great. I also work in the banking sector, but it’s not as rewarding as my side jobs.

How do you see yourself in 3 years?

Evolving. With your feet on the ground. Start expanding rapidly in our area, take off. In the short term, give shape and visibility. Having a wide range of products. Maybe introducing it in multi-brand stores. In Granada we already have an agreement with a shop. So within 3 years I would like to grow in the territory of Andalusia.

What advice would you give to those who want to start?

That you only live once. You always have time to work for others. That it is important to follow one’s vocation. Be nonconformist. To date, and not to keep this feeling of “what could have happened if…”. And above all, believe in your own ideas.

After this interview, you can see that it is always a good time to improve and reinvent yourself and your business. Being creative and daring to invest in what you want in life is something that is priceless. If you have any doubts about starting your own business but haven’t decided yet, we propose that you be brave like Francisco and start your business now! Go to 84degreeseast.co.uk and explore our wide range of products.
