Modifying the geometry of the compound wall

You can use dynamic editing to edit the compound wall. Before you begin, make sure that the Dynamic Editing selector is active. Select the compound wall to display the dynamic editing toolbar. To edit the compound wall, select the appropriate command from the toolbar.

You can modify the outer edges of the compound wall by dragging the edge and corner handles. You can also insert vertices by dragging the midpoint edge handles, and remove vertices by selecting a corner handle or edge, and pressing the Delete key.

In addition to standard polygon editing, you can drag the special line handles to the ends of the compound wall to shorten or lengthen the compound wall. You can also drag the line handle perpendicular to the composed wall by holding down the Alt key while dragging.

As an alternative method to dragging the line handle, you can drag the tip of the dimension arrow. If you know how much you want to shorten or lengthen the compound wall, select the tip of the dimension arrow and enter the value of the new dimension. Note that you can use dimension arrowheads and line handles in a plan view while polygon editing is only possible in 3D or in sections.

Changing the offset at the edges of layer

Use the Modify Wall Limit Offsets command on the Dynamic Modify toolbar to change layer offsets at the outer edges of the compound wall, or edges of openings or seams. Select the layer to modify from the list on the toolbar.

You have three options to change the offset to a particular edge:

Drag the line handle to the edge. You can drag the line handle only perpendicular to the edge.

Drag the tip of the dimension arrow and enter the measurement value.

Select the line handle and enter a new offset value.

You can select multiple line handles by holding down the Shift key as you select the handles.

You can change the upper and lower offsets at the outer edges in the Compound Wall dialog box, and the seam offsets in the Composite Wall Offset dialog box.

You can indicate that a particular layer is not cut with the opening. Start by selecting the opening. In the dynamic editing toolbar, select the layer and select Do not create.
